New Beginnings Family Law Celebrates the Achievements of Savannah McGaha and Cheryl Pogue

At New Beginnings Family Law, we believe the strength of our firm begins with the people who serve our clients with compassion, professionalism, and purpose. Today, we are proud to celebrate two members of our team for their accomplishments within the Alabama Association of Paralegals, Inc. (AAPi).

Our legal assistant, Savannah McGaha, has received the 2025–2026 AAPi Pathfinder Award, and Cheryl Pogue, CP, has been selected to serve as the organization’s Region 4 Director for 2026–2027.

Savannah McGaha Receives the 2025–2026 Pathfinder Award

The Pathfinder Award is a meaningful recognition presented to only one AAPi student member each year.

According to the association’s award criteria, candidates are evaluated based on their involvement with AAPi, including attending events, assisting with activities within their region, promoting the association to other students, and serving on AAPi committees. The recipient must also be a current student member who has previously been featured in the organization’s Student Spotlight.

The candidates’ names and identifying information are removed during the selection process so the decision is based solely on each student’s involvement with the association.

Receiving this award reflects Savannah’s initiative, service, and commitment to developing within the legal profession. Savannah brings that same dedication to her work as a legal assistant at New Beginnings Family Law, where she supports our attorneys, team members, and clients.

Amber and Cheryl had the honor of presenting the award to Savannah. We were thrilled to recognize her accomplishments and share such a special moment with her.

Cheryl Pogue Named AAPi Region 4 Director

We are equally proud to celebrate Cheryl Pogue as she begins a new chapter of professional service as the 2026–2027 AAPi Region 4 Director.

Since becoming a member of AAPi, Cheryl has embraced opportunities to learn, step outside her comfort zone, serve in new ways, and build relationships with other professionals who understand both the importance and the challenges of working in the legal field.

For Cheryl, AAPi has become much more than a professional association. It has provided a community built around networking, friendship, encouragement, support, and professional connection. Those experiences and relationships have contributed to her growth both personally and professionally.

Being trusted to serve as Region 4 Director is an honor Cheryl does not take lightly. During her term, she looks forward to getting to know the region’s members more closely, creating additional opportunities for connection and professional growth, supporting the paralegal community, and helping Region 4 remain active and engaged.

Cheryl’s appointment reflects her commitment to serving others and strengthening the profession. We are excited to see the impact she will make through her leadership.
